Age: 14
Species/Race: Gem-Human hybrid
Home Universe: Steven Universe

Appearance: Taking after both of his parents, Steven is short with a thick, stocky build. His eyes are brown, he has curly dark brown hair and wears a red T-shirt with a gold star in the center of it. He also wears blue jeans with lighter blue cuffs and pink flip-flop sandals. His gemstone, a rose quartz, is where his navel should be.
Personality: Steven behaves like a regular fun-loving, optimistic, enthusiastic, friendly and carefree child. While rash and outgoing, he also knows when to be serious. The boy has "Hope" written all over him, wears his heart on his sleeve, tries to avoid violence and uses reason if he can do so, and will extend a kind hand to anyone. Steven cherishes his friends and family above all else and isn't the type to hold a grudge or act prejudiced or discriminatory. Steven can also be a bit naive, but he's beginning to recognize that his way may not always end up being correct. First impressions are very important to him and he is primarily interested in peoples' motivations, rather than just their actions.
With a seemingly an unshakable faith in people, Steven's willing to give others another chance once he understands them more, but having that faith thrown back in his face can be upsetting to him. If confronted with someone whose first impressions are... negative and hostile, he will try his best to find out why they are acting that way or act a little more aggressive than usual if a first impression went very badly. He seemingly appears unfazed by things that would shock 'normal' people; he's totally okay with it, having learned that its best to take the trauma with a grain of salt in front of others. After so many near death experiences, he's matured quite a bit, but it'll take more than near-death to chip away at his idealism. All in all Steven is a pretty chill kid and a weird mix of sheltered and worldly. He's never been to school or been to a library (except once).
Friends: Connie, Lars, Sadiem Most of Beach City's residents, Centipeedle, Peridot, Lapis Lazuli,
Family: Greg (father), Rose Quartz (Mother), Andy DeMayo (uncle), Pearl, Garnet, Amethyst, Ruby, Sapphire
Enemies: Jasper, Eyeball, Navy, Bismuth, Holly Blue Agate, Kevin, Marty, Aquamarine, Topaz (more like an ally)
Attached NPC(s) Information: Lion, a possibly sentient and mysterious pink lion that can open portals, has stone-shattering sonic roars and has an airless pocket dimension hidden in his mane.
Backstory: Years ago, a race known as Gems arrived on Earth with plans to invade and cause harm. Led by Rose Quartz, several gems defected from their race and called themselves the Crystal Gems, self-proclaimed defenders of Earth and all of its creatures. This resulted in a war that killed all but Rose's closest and exiled the defectors from their homeworld when the other Gems left Earth. Later Rose Quartz met the human Greg Universe and fell in love with him. Rose then sacrificed her life so Steven could be born. Guided and aided by the remaining members of the Crystal Gems Garnet, Pearl and Amethyst, Steven's destiny is to protect humanity as his mother did before him.
FIGHTING
"I'm someone the Diamonds will want more than any of these humans. The leader of the Crystal Gem Rebellion. The Gem that shattered Pink Diamond. I'm Rose Quartz!"
===========
Powers / Abilities:
Weapons: Steven can summon two things naturally, an all-encompassing, translusent bubble and a buckler shield.
Bubble Shield: Steven is capable of summoning an incredibly durable bubble that encases him and others that he's protecting. He can change its size and summon it reflexively, and even make it expand to push enemies back; sometimes it can even have spikes on its surface. The bubble can generate its own internal atmosphere, meaning whoever he is in there with can survive for hours despite it being air-tight. He's also able to stretch a side of his bubble into a small tunnel that connects it to another bubble.
Buckler Shield: His mother's weapon that appears over his arms, which he wields with great skill. Steven can summon his shield as many times as he wants without tiring, even summoning more than one. He can increase its size, though making it as tall as Garnet can take some effort. His shield also has razor-sharp edges and can cut through substances as tough as solid rock. When struck with an attack, it can emit concussive sound waves to knock several enemies away at a time and may disrupt whatever hits it, such as disabling Lapis' water clones.
Other Items: His phone and wallet.
Weaknesses:
+ Steven is mature in some ways but not all of them, since he hasn't been exposed to many things (especially on the human spectrum, such as personal space). If he explores unknown territory he is going to be blundering through it.
+ It is unknown if he possesses all the abilities of a pure Gem, such as retreating to their gemstone when taking fatal damage.
+ There are only a few things that threaten a fusion's stability; willing defusion, shock, destruction of the projected body, extreme physical or emotional pain, or utterly incompatible emotions from the component parts.
+ He genuinely cares about everybody’s well-being and often puts their needs above his own. When he sees something wrong, his immediate thought is to try and fix it, and it’s not always for the best.
+ He's greatly protective of his best friend and crush, Connie. While Steven doesn't really know what to call their relationship, Connie is the one he's the most honest with about his doubts, insecurities, and fears.
+ Repeated use of his astral projection can physically exhaust him, as sleeping in this state provides no restful benefit.
+ He tends to repress his trauma and troubles until they overwhelm him all at once.
+ Steven has no practice dealing with a bully, or people who are mean just for the sake of being mean. He always wants to see the good in everyone he meets and tries to give others numerous chances to redeem themselves, even if they hurt him.
+ He's a very bad liar.
+ Someone betraying his faith in them sees him at his angriest.
+ Having been in real life and death situations, seeing others treat it as a game can cause him anxiety and stress.
+ Prone to motion sickness.
+ Steven's healing ability does not work on himself, nor will it work should the receiver be close to death. It can also fail at inopportune moments or if he loses confidence in himself.
+ Steven tends to push too hard and overstep people’s boundaries in the name of helping them and rarely questions the people he loves.
+ Steven is still just a kid. He doesn't have an adult's understanding of certain things and may not get the implications of something like his possession ability (no adult understanding of free will and agency).

FIGHTING
"I'm someone the Diamonds will want more than any of these humans. The leader of the Crystal Gem Rebellion. The Gem that shattered Pink Diamond. I'm Rose Quartz!"
===========
Powers / Abilities:
This chubby half-gem can pull off surprising physical stunts when push comes to shove. He has superhuman strength, speed, durability, endurance, agility, and can shapeshift, summon weapons, perform telepathy/astral projection, has Phytoanimation, healing saliva, levitation/descent control and fusion. Also is a musical prodigy and culinarily talented. Steven's powers are tied to his emotions. He is not strictly oxygen-dependent and is vacuum-resistant. Can speak a little Spanish, is ticklish and enjoys drawing (even if his style is crude).
Shapeshifting: A natural ability for all Gems. Steven can stretch most any part of his body at will repeatedly, and even make himself look a little older. He hasn't tried transforming in to other things (and still gets freaked out when he tries). He can only hold the new form for a certain amount of time; his half-human nature puts more of a strain on his body than it would a Gem.
Physical: Steven's strength is impossible for a human boy his age - or even a grown man. Likewise, his speed is super-human and he's more durable than he appears. His body can take amounts of punishment that would kill regular humans.
Empathetic Telepathy: Steven has a natural empathy towards those around him, capable of sensing their presence and their emotional states. At times he can be affected by them subconsciously. He doesn't have a full grasp on it yet, so picking up someone's serious physical OR emotional distress can cause him a heap of trouble. At times this can develop as telepathy and seeing through another's eyes if he's close enough or dreaming about them (the effect is stronger if the other person also has empathetic abilities, as his own can be subconsciously triggered by their presence).
Possession: Steven can take control of a targeted individual (or plant creation's). He has to have an emotional connection with them, have concern for them and both himself and the recipient have to be asleep as well unless it's one of his own creations. When he does this the possessed voice does not change. His physical body is kept asleep unless he touches it in the possessed body, then they transfer back to their original ones. He is aware of how essentially robbing someone of their free will and agency, even when it comes from a good-hearted place, is bad. Thus he tries not to use it unless he gets consent first, however it can still happen accidentally.
Phytoanimation: Steven can create living plants by licking the seed and then planting them. He can then control the plant by giving them commands; all of his creations show innate loyalty towards him unless he does something that changes it, and all of them are capable of complex, abstract thought and moral reasoning. They also receive baseline level of knowledge and action from Steven himself, such as understanding english. (The next few sentences are headcanon to fill in gaps about how this power works). While the “[plant]-Steven” is his default, meaning the plant will look like him, he can adjust the results if he chooses to. However, just like Rose Quartz, most of Steven's plant creations live to fight, taking on anyone who appears to be even the slightest threat to him unless he orders them otherwise.
Healing Saliva: Steven's spit can heal general injuries and damaged inorganic objects. It will not work on himself and works through physical contact; as far as healing mental problems goes, that is unknown.
Resurrection Tears: His tears can bring recently deceased organics back to life, with the added powers of Lion (and a color/hair skin change). Anyone resurrected using this method is linked to Lion's mane dimension. Only works on 'normal' people he has a high connection with (and with player permission only).
Levitation/Descent Control: Like his mother, Steven can levitate his body and even manipulate its gravity based on his emotions. As he floats slowly anything he touches will also float just as slow, no matter how large. This also allows him to jump higher than normal.
Bubbling: A form of containment for Gems and other items (and, on one occasion, another person) that Steven had inherited from his mother. He has to think of a bubble surrounding the object in question, and then think of 'home' and tap the top of the bubble to teleport the bubbled object there. Should he manage to contain a Gem inside, the Gem cannot regenerate and loses all sense of time. Unlike his bubble shield however, these bubbles are smaller and more durable that natural bubbles and can float. Can be popped very easily by outside forces. An active object or person is capable of bursting the bubble from the inside.
Fusion: Steven can fuse with those he has a strong connection with. Unless Steven and the other part of the fusion are identical, the fusion ends up being something completely new - personality, powers, and even weapons. Unlike Gem fusions, however, he does not need to dance to fuse; only requiring physical contact and an emotional connection to his partner. A common trait between his fusions is that they may fall apart under high amounts of stress or emotion. In order for a Fusion to work, balance is everything. Imbalance causes hallucinations and eventually makes it fall apart. Keeping a fusion together is harder than separating one. Sometimes a fusion can be forcibly held together if one half was strong enough.
When a fusion is badly damaged they usually poof back to their component parts, with both parts being hurt but to a lesser degree. The fusion also does not instantly have all of the memories of their composites - they can keep the fusion from remembering things, but they do have a general knowledge from the two along with their own experiences. And when a fusion is experiencing hallucinations, they can be made up of figments of one of the composites memories.
Stevonnie: The fusion of Steven and his best friend Connie. Stevonnie is a blend of Steven and Connie's personalities, but also they are their own person. Like all fusions, Stevonnie has both the skillsets of Steven and Connie, and possesses an extreme amount of super-human strength and agility. With Connie's strength and athleticism combined with Steven's superhuman abilities, Stevonnie is a force to be reckoned with, capable of defeating Quartz Soldiers. They have skilled swordsmanship, shield proficiency, superhuman strength and agility and speed of descent regulation.
Smoky Quartz: The fusion of Steven and Amethyst. Smoky is proud, confident, carefree and happy-go-lucky. Smoky also has both of Steven and Amethyst's self-doubts added together. Smoky possesses standard abilities and traits, superhuman strength, a spinning move, and can combine Steven's shield and Amethyst's whip to make a combat-worthy yo-yo.
Lion: Lion has a loud, powerful roar that sends pink concussive rings to destroy/knock down structures, powerful enough to cut through stone. He can also roar to create pink portals that connect two non-adjacent areas together and once inside those portals can cause him to accelerate with each pass on an individual portal to increase speed and distance traveled. Besides an above average strength and speed Lion has incredible stamina and a high jumping ability, a pocket dimension in his mane that he can use to carry objects and people, and can walk/run on water.
