GENERAL
"Please... must I beat you with one hand behind my back before you realize you are outmatched?"
Name: Vlad Masters, AKA Vlad Plasmius
Age: "Older than you, naturally."
Species/Race: Human/Ghost Hybrid.
Canon or OC: Canon, from "Danny Phantom."
Dialogue Color: BBCode e619e6
PERSONAL
"You EXIST to serve ME!"
Personality:
Vlad Masters is a solitary man, a lonely existence wrought by his constant villainy. He sees everyone around him as potential pawns, all moving to his sinister machinations. When he wants something, either he eventually obtains it, or spends the rest of his life incessantly chasing it. This pursuit of his desires is only amplified by his dark powers, and his sheer determination is impressive on its own. However, he secretly harbors a desire for a family of his own... even if he wouldn't know what to do with them, or even how to treat them.
Friends:
None. Vlad Masters has no friends, only pawns in his schemes.
Enemies:
Countless, although his eternal rival Danny Phantom would certainly top the list.
Backstory:
During his college life, Vlad Masters was part of a research trio with Maddie and Jack Fenton. He held a crush on Maddie, and sought to woo her into a relationship. However, as he was examining their latest project, a portal into another dimension, the experiment exploded in his face. After emerging from the hospital, he discovered that Jack and Maddie had gotten married. His romantic interests crushed, he turned researching ghosts alone.
At this point, he discovered that the explosion had infused his DNA with ectoplasm. This terrible event that had led to his solitary existence had given him the ultimate weapon; ghostly powers. He began experimenting with these powers, using them to steal wealth and power from those around him. Over the next two decades, he honed these powers into the tools from which he built an economic empire. Countless businesses were "sold" to him, thanks to him possessing the owners and agreeing to the deal under their name. Wealth and power were his, and two decades after the initial discovery of his powers, he contacted his old research buddies.
The Fentons met their old friend, only for Vlad to meet their son Daniel. Danny had suffered a similar accident in his parent's lab, becoming the ghostly superhero Danny Phantom. Vlad took it upon himself to reach out to the young man, though his offers of tutelage (for the price of Danny disowning his father) were rejected. Enraged, Vlad made it his purpose in life to destroy Danny Phantom and his family... which ultimately ended in failure.
Having failed to not only defeat Danny Phantom, but also having lost the respect of the only person he'd ever truly cared for, Vlad took to wandering the stars for the rest of his ghostly life... only to be sucked into Eden as he drifted aimlessly through space.
FIGHTING
"You have a battle cry? Hilarious."
Powers / Abilities:
Vlad Masters has the (almost) unique ability to shift between human and ghost forms. In his human form, he regenerates all damage dealt to him with remarkable speed, and can quickly replenish his ectoplasmic reserves.
In both his human and ghost forms, Vlad is capable of accessing these ghostly powers:
- Intangibility - He can phase through physical objects at will, and is even skilled enough to let enemy blows flow through his body.
- Invisibility - Vlad can turn himself totally invisible, and is undetectable to everything except systems and creatures able to sense ghosts.
- Ectoplasmic Ray - Vlad can unleash a blast of raw ghostly power that travels a great distance. He can control how powerful this blast is, as well.
- Possession - He is capable of phasing into other being, briefly replacing their minds and wills with his own. By doing so, he can gain access to physical powers and capabilities they have, using their bodies as his own. While possessing someone, they can struggle against his control, potentially breaking free if he presses them into doing something against everything they believe in.
- Superhuman Capabilities - Thanks to both decades of training and the ectoplasmic energy flowing through him, Vlad has superhuman strength, reflexes, and durability. In his ghost form, these powers are enhanced even further.
In his ghost form, he gains significantly more power and abilities he can utilize.
- Flight - Vlad can fly at high speeds, easily out-matching speeding vehicles and even jets. He can also use this power to levitate.
- Teleportation - Vlad can warp himself to any location he has seen before... even if he hasn't physically been there.
- Ectoplasmic Constructs - Vlad can focus his ectoplasm into physical constructs, using them to perform whatever his wishes. He can even combine constructs with his ghost ray, creating energy weapons or explosive tools.
- Energy Refraction - Vlad is able to refract most forms of energy, stopping energy blasts and redirecting them in whatever direction he wishes. There are limits to this ability, however: while he can easily redirect any form of ghostly or ectoplasmic energy, other forms (such as magic) are impossible for him to manipulate.
- Duplication - One of his favored powers. Vlad can easily create duplicates of himself that act of their own accord. Vlad has not yet discovered a maximum limit to this ability, although every duplicate takes a piece of his ectoplasmic reserve to exist. His favorite tactic is to create three duplicates, and work in tandem with them to overwhelm a single foe.
- Energy Empowerment - Vlad can charge parts of his body with ectoplasmic power, increasing his strength, durability, or speed.
- Immortality - While not immortal in the classical sense, Vlad does not require food, air, water, or any other kind of sustenance while in his ghost form. As long as he remains in his ghost form, in essence, he is everlasting and undying.
Vlad's abilities are not limited to his ghostly powers; he was a brilliant scientist before he became a hybrid, and his mental capabilities have only grown since then. He is a sinister mastermind, able to effortlessly balance multiple plans with each other, seeing all of them to fruition. His scientific training has also given him the knowledge to understand his own powers and nature, and he has used this information to create tools and weapons specifically designed to be used against other ectoplasmic entities.
Weapons:
Vlad rarely carries weapons, though he has a great number of technological tools and gadgets thanks to his fortune. When stepping into an important battle, however, he will always carry a spectral sword empowered with his own ectoplasm.
Other Items:
Vlad has a vast fortune borne from decades of unscrupulous business dealings and outright theft. With this fortune, he can create virtually any item he wishes, given that he has enough time and materials to create them.
Weaknesses:
Despite all of his powers, Vlad has multiple weaknesses.
- Alone - Vlad has a vast fortune, ghostly powers, and a distinct lack of morals... but he was denied the one thing he yearned for the most; the love of his life. As such, Vlad has been alone for a vast portion of his life, and this has created multiple psychological triggers within his mind. Should someone manage to pull one of those triggers, Vlad would immediately become psychologically unstable.
- Pride - Vlad is a billionaire with incredible superpowers. Naturally, he considers himself above almost everyone else. This sense of pride, of course, leads to him underestimating many of his foes.
- Hybrid - While his hybrid form grants him incredible powers, it also has a significant drawback. Since he is both human AND ghost, weapons and items that target one of the two will affect him. Anti-ghost weaponry or magic will affect him as if he were a full ghost, and anti-human tools and spells will affect him as if he were a full human.
OTHER
"Oh, I assure you, my boy... THIS is only the beginning!"
Canon Point: Soon after the end of the series, as Vlad was cast out into space following the Phantom Planet event.
